After the Collection

After your medical practitioner has made the collection using the Americord Collection Kit, the labor and delivery staff will return the Collection Kit to you or to a designated family member. The Collection Kit is pre-labeled and is ready to be shipped "as-is." Simply call the courier after your baby's birth, and then relax with your new baby. With one simple phone call, your Collection Kit will be picked up by our medical courier directly from your hospital room.

Do not refrigerate the Collection Kit

The Collection Kit should be kept at room temperature after the collection has been completed. Not surprisingly, stem cells like body temperature. Never refrigerate the kit, expose it to freezing temperatures, or expose it to extreme heat (like in a closed vehicle or car trunk). Our medical courier will come to your hospital room to pick it up, so you can keep it with you after you call the medical courier.
